A man named Samson, whose last name is still unknown, was killed by an angry mob after he smashed his young son to death, killed a nursing mother, and injured others in Evwreni Community, Delta State.
The events happened in the early hours of yesterday according to Vanguard news report.
According to a local source, around 2 a.m., Samson killed his toddler son. While people were still in shock over this, he went on to kill a nursing mother, identified as Princess, and injured another man who has not yet been identified.
One eyewitness, who preferred to remain anonymous, said Samson had been acting strangely before the incident. “He was behaving oddly, and the family was planning to take him to a medical center for treatment. Unfortunately, this tragedy happened before they could do anything,” the source explained.
The source added, “He killed his son, then attacked a woman who had taken her son outside to use the toilet. He also injured some young men who tried to stop him.”
After the rampage, Samson was captured by an enraged mob. They beat him severely and then set his body and his motorcycle on fire, committing an act of jungle justice.
Although the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, was unavailable for comment, a senior security official confirmed the incident. “By the time our officers arrived, the suspect had already been set ablaze by the mob,” the official stated.
