Defecting governors are exporting PDP problems to new parties – PDP secretary

The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ini Ememobong, has said that governors who dumped the party for other political platforms are merely transferring the problems they helped create in the PDP to their new parties.

Ememobong made the assertion on Friday during an interview on The Morning Brief, a programme aired on Channels Television.

He said, “For elections, we acknowledge the fact that there are problems in the PDP, and we are not not being irresponsible about that.

“We are saying to them that the problems in the PDP will concern human beings, and they were leaders of the party at the time when these problems were there.

“So when you’re pointing accusing fingers at the PDP, you are simply having four fingers pointing back at you to say, what did you do when this crisis was there? Because human beings created the crisis.

“So when they say that there’s a problem in it means that they are also the problem and we know that they are also exporting this problem to wherever they are going to, so it’s a matter of convenience.”

He said the defections were driven more by political convenience than principle, adding that the issues confronting the PDP were created by individuals and would inevitably follow them to their new political parties.
