Death of Lagos council chairman painful – Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Tuesday mourned the sudden death of the Chairman, Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olufunmi Olatunji.

Sanwo-Olu described the late Olatunji’s death as painful and a big loss to both council and the state.

The statement was contained in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, describing the deceased council boss as an extremely loyal politician and an invaluable asset to APC.

According to him, the deceased politician lived a fulfilled life and impacted lives through selfless service to his family, people of Eti-Osa East LCDA, Lagos State and humanity at large.

The governor also said that there was no doubting the fact that he would be “missed by the entire political class, particularly Eti-Osa East LCDA, Lagos APC family and the state as a whole.”

“The death of Hon. Olufunmi Olatunji is a painful and great loss to Lagos State. I am saddened by the death of this fine gentleman; a loyal party man and committed democrat.

“There is no doubting the fact that he would be missed by the entire political class, particularly Eti-Osa East LCDA, Lagos APC family and the state as a whole,” he said.

Olatunji, who is also the APC chairmanship candidate for July 24, 2021, local government elections in the state, died on Monday night after a brief illness.
