DEADLY TORNADO! Falling Mahogany tree kills three Taraba State University students in Cameroon

Three students of Taraba State University have died after a tree fell on them during a trip to Cameroon.

The students, who were on an excursion to a wildlife park in northern Cameroon, were killed by a falling Mahogany tree.

The deceased have been identified as a 400L student, Yusuf M Bello, who is serving as the President, Biological Science Students’ Association; a 400 Level student Of Biology Education, Nancy SamAchak; and a Botany student, Grace Fyafa Thomas.

The tree, which was allegedly hit by a tornado, also injured 16 other students.

The region’s governor, Jean Abate Edi’i, said

“Following a tornado, a tree fell on to a group of Nigerian students staying in Bouba Ndjida national park.”

The group of 50 students and six staff were on a school trip.

According to a Facebook user, Marafa Paul, who penned down a tribute to his dead colleagues, the HOD of the Faculty of Biological Science, Dr. Robert S. Houmsu, is unconscious since and receiving treatment at the intensive care clinic in Republic of Cameroon.
