The Kaduna Patriotic Movement has taken a swipe at the newly unveiled All Democratic Alliance, describing the coalition—championed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other political heavyweights—as “dead on arrival.”
In a strongly worded statement, KPM Chairman, Ibrahim Dan-Gaskiya, dismissed the ADA as a hollow political arrangement with no grassroots appeal. He labeled its leaders—Atiku, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi—as “spent forces chasing lost glory.”
According to Dan-Gaskiya, the alliance lacks the cohesion, credibility, and public trust needed to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. “The so-called ADA coalition is nothing but a gathering of political paper tigers. They have lost touch with the people and even with their own political bases,” he said. “Democracy is a game of numbers, not noise, and the APC remains the party to beat come 2027.”
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State also weighed in, describing the ADA as weak and ideologically incoherent. He argued that its formation is a desperate move by political actors who have lost their relevance in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
“These are individuals who were never known for grassroots mobilization or pro-people advocacy. They are now banding together to form a coalition that can neither bark nor bite,” Governor Sani remarked during a recent media interaction in Kaduna.
Highlighting achievements under his administration, Sani credited the APC-led government with transforming Kaduna State and attracting national recognition. During a recent visit to the state, President Tinubu referred to Kaduna as “Nigeria’s frontier of purpose and progress.”
Tensions also rose following El-Rufai’s assertion that several newly commissioned projects in the state were initiated during his tenure. The Kaduna State Government swiftly refuted the claim, calling it “a bare-faced lie.”
“These projects are the signature achievements of the Uba Sani-led administration,” stated Ibraheem Musa, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor. “The former governor may be good at talking, but this government is known for doing. Kaduna people see the difference.”
Musa highlighted key developments such as the establishment of three modern Institutes of Vocational Training and the completion of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital. He also noted the rollout of 100 CNG-powered buses, offering free rides to workers, students, and retirees for six months—a move aimed at easing post-subsidy economic pressures.
While acknowledging that the Tinubu Specialist Hospital was originally conceptualized during the tenure of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, the government clarified that it remained neglected until Governor Sani completed and fully equipped it to international standards.
The governor’s efforts have drawn praise from prominent figures including Vice President Namadi Sambo, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli. They urged citizens to support Sani’s development-focused agenda.
“These are not propaganda projects,” said Prof. Idris Bugaje, Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). “Kaduna State now boasts the most advanced skills development infrastructure in Nigeria. No polytechnic or technical university comes close.”
Dan-Gaskiya concluded that the APC would coast to victory in the 2027 elections, both at the federal and state levels. “The people have tasted good governance under President Tinubu and Governor Sani. They will not trade tested leadership for empty promises,” he said.
“The ADA coalition has already failed before takeoff. The APC remains the ship of stability, and Nigerians are not boarding any sinking vessels,” the KPM Chairman added.
