Dead body found along Owerri-Onitsha Expressway, Anambra
Tragedy as a dead body of the yet-to-be-identified man was found lying along Owerri-Onitsha by Eze river in front of Pentecost University Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
This was contained in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Okadigbi Edwin.
According to the NSCDC statement, the incident was reported at Ekwusigo Divisional Office on Tuesday, 14th April.
The Divisional Officer CSC Deborah Anigbogu reportedly rushed to the scene and discovered a male dead body lying along Owerri-Onitsha Express Road by Eze River in front of Pentecost University Ozubulu.
The NSCDC further revealed that the photograph was taken and the area was cordoned off.
According to the preliminary investigation, the young man was allegedly killed by an unknown person and the lifeless body dumped last night.
Reacting to the development, the Divisional Officer contacted the PG of Ozubulu and alerted the Environmental Health Department of the Ekwusigo Local Government to evacuate the corpse in order to avert health hazard to Public living in the area.
The State Commandant of NSCDC, David Bille has ordered a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
