De Bruyne inspires City to dramatic comeback win against Newcastle

Published

Kevin De Bruyne made a spectacular return to the Premier League, playing a pivotal role in Manchester City’s thrilling 3-2 victory against Newcastle in a high-energy clash at St James’ Park.

Pep Guardiola’s side initially took the lead with a stylish backheel finish by Bernardo Silva in the 26th minute. However, the home duo of Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon turned the game on its head with quickfire goals before halftime.

The match took a dramatic turn when De Bruyne, making his first league appearance since the season’s opening match due to a hamstring injury, entered the fray in the 70th minute.

Just four minutes later, he showcased his brilliance by equalizing with a delightful finish from outside the box, capitalizing on a pass from Rodri.

De Bruyne continued to be the catalyst for City’s comeback. He played a crucial role in setting up fellow substitute Oscar Bobb for the winning goal. Bobb demonstrated composure, controlling the ball and finishing from close range.

The exhausted home side couldn’t muster a response, and City secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory.

This comeback win propelled Manchester City to the second spot in the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Liverpool.
