Manchester City captain and star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has chosen Manchester United skipper as his favorite playmaker.

De Bruyne, who has been widely regarded as the best playmaker in the league for the past few seasons, was asked by Sky Sports to name his favorite among three other creative players in the division: Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, Martin Odegaard of Arsenal and James Maddison of Tottenham.

“I think he’s a creative machine. I think he’s always there. He has been doing it for a long time. He takes a lot of risks also, and I like it. Obviously, he’s been doing so well,” he said.

De Bruyne surprisingly chose Fernandes, who recently became the captain of United under Erik ten Hag. He praised the Portuguese international for his creativity, risk-taking, and consistency.

De Bruyne ranked Odegaard second, saying that the Arsenal skipper was also a very good player who had improved a lot since joining the Gunners. He said he needed more time to judge Maddison, who joined Spurs this summer from Leicester City, and see how he would cope with the pressure of playing for a big club.
