The wave of killings in Kwara State and the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State has triggered strong reactions from top Nigerian celebrities, many of whom are calling on President Bola Tinubu to act or step down.

Davido, in a press statement on Wednesday, said his heart was broken over the kidnapping of young girls in Kebbi and the deadly church attack in Kwara.

He said, “My heart goes out to the young girls kidnapped in Kebbi State and to their families. No family deserves this pain. As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and continue working towards a country where every child can grow up in safety and hope.”

On the Kwara church killings, he added, “These acts of violence must never become our norm.”

Davido urged Nigerians with credible information to assist security agencies, saying, “Everything must be done to bring the Kebbi girls home safely.”

Falz also demanded that President Tinubu resign. On X, he reshared a 2014 post where Tinubu had told ex-President Jonathan to step down over insecurity.

Falz wrote, “You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. Resign now.”

Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong echoed the same call.

He said, “As Commander-in-Chief, he is weak, clueless and grossly incompetent. The killings and bloodbath can’t continue. Resign now, Tinubu.”

Abuja-based lawyer Deji Adeyanju also expressed disappointment, saying security agencies failed to protect worshippers in Kwara despite the attack happening close to a police station.

He wrote, “President Tinubu must take decisive action on insecurity or resign.”

Comedian Debo Macaroni condemned the attacks and reminded the President of his campaign promises.

He posted, “You made a vow to end the scourge of insecurity once and for all if elected President of Nigeria. What changed?”

He warned Nigerians against ignoring the killings, saying, “These terrorist attacks concern all of us. This is madness.”

Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo reacted to the viral video from the Kwara church attack, noting the fear of an elderly woman struggling to escape.

He said, “These are human lives. Families, futures, dreams. We need to step up our security measures. This can’t continue.”

Singer Simi said the government had become numb to the suffering of citizens.

She wrote, “People losing their lives in the name of religion. Children being stolen from their families like their lives are worth nothing. Sorry is not enough. Never has been.”

She added that Nigerians were tired of complaining while nothing changes.

Actress Iyabo Ojo demanded urgent action from authorities, saying the Kebbi abduction reminded her of the Chibok tragedy.

She urged the government to investigate internal security breaches, arrest any security personnel aiding criminals, and equip the military with modern weapons.

She said, “Enough is enough. We must stand together against injustice and demand an end to these atrocities.”

She also called for stronger intelligence, the mobilisation of the air force, and bold military action against terrorists.
