Nigerian musician and son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti, recently opened up about his disappointment at not being invited to Davido’s wedding.

The wedding, which took place on June 25, 2024, was a grand affair attended by dignitaries and celebrities from across the country. However, Seun Kuti revealed that he did not receive an invitation, despite his close history with Davido.

Speaking on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by Bae U Barbie, Kuti shared how he struggled with the snub, saying it affected his sleep for a week.

He explained that Davido and his entourage frequently visited the African Shrine, the bar owned by the Kuti family, and enjoyed drinks without paying.

Kuti stated, “Davido would come to the African Shrine with 100 guys, and he would drink without paying, but when it was time for his wedding, I didn’t get an invite. I was pained, I didn’t sleep for one week.”

The revelation comes as a surprise, given the close relationship Kuti believed he had with the famous artist. Despite the emotional impact, Seun Kuti has not expressed any ill will toward Davido, only sharing his disappointment in missing out on the event.

Davido’s wedding to his wife, Chioma, was one of the most talked-about events of 2024, with a guest list filled with influential figures.
