Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, the eldest son of British celebrity couple David and Victoria Beckham, has publicly said he does not want to reconcile with his parents amid an ongoing family rift.

The 26-year-old made the disclosure in a lengthy post shared with his 16.2 million followers on Instagram on Monday, accusing his parents of controlling media narratives and attempting to damage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn wrote.

“I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Brooklyn, a photographer and entrepreneur, is the first son of former England football captain David Beckham and his wife Victoria, a fashion designer and former Spice Girls member.

He married American actress Nicola Peltz, daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz and former model Claudia Heffner Peltz, in 2022.

In his post, Brooklyn alleged that tensions with his family began before his wedding and have continued since then.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he said.

He claimed that his mother withdrew from making Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, despite earlier excitement about the design, forcing his wife to urgently find an alternative.

Brooklyn also accused his mother of disrupting his wedding reception, alleging that she “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola.

“My mum hijacked my first dance and danced inappropriately on me in front of hundreds of people,” he wrote, adding that he had never felt more “uncomfortable or humiliated.”

He further alleged that his wife had been repeatedly disrespected by his family and said Nicola was not invited to his father’s 50th birthday celebration.

“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first,” Brooklyn added.

He concluded by saying that while he grew up with “overwhelming anxiety,” he has now found “peace” in his current life.

Spokespersons for David and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to requests for comment on their son’s statements.

The rift within the Beckham family has been the subject of public speculation for months, with observers noting growing distance between Brooklyn, his wife, and the rest of the family on social media.
