Popular broadcaster Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, has been announced as the new co-host of The Honest Bunch Podcast, replacing Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia.
This change comes after Nedu officially left the podcast in February 2025 following public controversy linked to a viral episode featuring comedian and reality TV personality, Deeone.
In that episode, Deeone made claims suggesting that social media critic, VeryDarkMan, was attracted to men. After the episode aired, VDM responded strongly, accusing Nedu of trying to bring him on the show since 2024 and even allegedly offering him a car to appear.
Things became more serious when VDM, through his lawyer, sent a warning to Nedu to stop all contact. He also threatened to reveal information involving some female celebrities if Nedu did not back off.
Under growing public pressure, Nedu shared a message on Instagram explaining why he was stepping down from the show.
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me… But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll,” Nedu wrote.
He added, “I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast… for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself.”
With Nedu’s departure, Daddy Freeze now joins the other co-hosts: Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne. The podcast is known for its bold discussions and humour on issues that affect millennials and Gen Z in Nigeria.
Daddy Freeze, known for his strong opinions on social issues and religion, is expected to bring a new energy to the show.
The Honest Bunch team has not yet released an official statement about the direction of the podcast with Daddy Freeze on board, but fans are already reacting online, with many saying they are eager to see how his presence will shape future episodes.
