The Lagos State Government has on Saturday night sealed The Corner night club for defying guidelines laid down to curb COVID-19 in the state.
This came after the government sealed popular Ikeja bar, Cubana, for hosting its customers against the state government’s directives.
Recall that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday placed a ban on night clubs, concerts, street over fears of a second wave of the deadly virus that has infected a total of 77,933 Nigerians, according to the NCDC’s data on Saturday night.
Despite the caution, the clubs located in the Ikeja and Lekki areas of the state, respectively, and others were forcefully shut last night by a team from the Lagos State Safety Commission led by the Lagos state commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
A number of club-goers were chased out in the process and the clubs shut for hosting its customers despite the ban on night clubs.
