Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a big step into the movie world by starting a new film studio with famous British director Matthew Vaughn.
The studio is called UR•Marv, and it aims to create exciting action films using new technology while respecting traditional filmmaking styles.
Ronaldo, who is already a global icon in sports, said this marks a fresh chapter in his life.
“This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business,” Ronaldo said.
Matthew Vaughn, known for hit movies like Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and the Kingsman series, also shared his thoughts on the partnership.
“Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him – he’s a real-life superhero,” Vaughn said.
The new studio, UR•Marv, has already completed two action movies, with a third currently in development. All three are part of the same film series, and more details about the first one will be announced soon.
This isn’t Ronaldo’s first move into media and entertainment. In August 2024, he launched a YouTube channel called “UR Cristiano”, where he shares personal stories and fun content with fans. Before that, in October 2023, he also became a key investor in Medialivre, a major Portuguese media company.
With this new venture, Ronaldo is showing the world that he is more than just a footballer. He is building a strong brand that goes beyond sports, aiming to entertain people in new and exciting ways.
