COVID-19: Ogun records two deaths as cases rise to 336

The Ogun State Government has said two persons died of Coronavirus in the state on Saturday.

On Friday, a 43-year-old trader was reported to have died of the virus at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.

The state now has a total of 12 COVID-19 deaths.

In a statement published by the Ogun State Government on its verified social media platforms, it was confirmed that seven new cases were reported on Saturday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Ogun now has 336 confirmed cases, out of which 186 have been discharged.

The statement reads:

“The NCDC has announced that Ogun State on 6th June 2020 recorded 7 new confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, making the cumulative confirmed cases 336.

“So far, a total of 186 COVID-19 patients have been discharged, while there are currently 138 active cases.

“This is as the State has recorded a total of 12 related deaths, including 2 deaths sadly recorded in the State on the same day.

“Everyone is urged to comply with stated guidelines and preventive measures, as local health authorities continue to trace contacts of all active and confirmed cases.”
