Ogun state has recorded eight fresh COVID-19 positive cases within 48 hours on Tuesday.
The new record was released by the Officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control [NCDC] as of 11:25pm on Tuesday.
The state had recorded 12 cases of COVID-19 from seven Local Government Areas of the state as of Monday.
But, the NCDC on Tuesday night gave an update and disclosed that Ogun now had 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The NCDC in its update via Twitter handle reported that three new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ogun state, adding that five cases previously reported for Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State.
NCDC also disclosed that 117 new cases were recorded in different parts of the country.
The centre gave a breakdown of the cases that Lagos recorded 59 while Federal Capital Territory and Kano had 29 and 14 cases respectively.
The report also added that Borno recorded six cases, while Katstina recorded four new cases.
Also, Rivers and Bauchi states recorded one case each, while Ogun recorded three new cases.
According to the report, five cases previously reported in Lagos State have been transferred to Ogun State
It added,
“Therefore, Lagos has reported 430 confirmed cases while Ogun has reported 20 confirmed cases.”
