The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile Yusuff, on Friday, announcing the further easing of restrictions on social gatherings.
Yusuff, in a statement, said the decision was taken after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s consultation and deliberations with relevant stakeholders.
In the new guidelines, event centres must register before reopening. The event duration should not exceed six hours.
Safety Marshals must be deployed by an accredited safety consultant from Lagos State Safety Commission for events with attendance exceeding 200 people.
The occupancy limit shall be 50 per cent of the maximum design capacity of the hall.
The capacity allowable, irrespective of the limit, is 500 people. Deep cleaning must be carried out before and after every event.
Physical distancing must be maintained between seated guests. The maximum number should be 6 people on a table of 10.
“Event centre owners/ planners/vendors would be responsible for any breach of protocols by their staff,” the government added.
The statement said COVID-19 protocols must be observed and warned that any violation shall attract fines and penalties in line with the Lagos State Infectious Diseases Control Regulation 2020.
