Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDA) has donated 1,000 of 10kg bags of rice to the Enugu State Government as COVID-19 palliative.

Presenting the food item to the state government in Enugu on Friday, ESHDA Managing Director, Mr Chukwuemelie Agu, said that the corporation deemed it necessary to present the items at this critical time.

We are presenting another 1,000 bags of 10kg of rice, bringing it up to 3,000 bags that we have given during this COVID-19 pandemic.

”What we are doing is to show support to the Committee on COVID-19 and to the Governor whom we know has been working tirelessly during this period.

”This is the time to show love and support as well, some of us here are just representative of this group,” he said.

Agu said that they decided to come together to put hands on deck and support the people adding that the corporation would still do more.

In appreciation, the Deputy Governor, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, thanked the group for the support to the government and the people of the state since the pandemic started.

Ezeilo noted that the Governor had been doing a lot to ensure that COVID-19 was tackled with renovation, rehabilitation, and reconstructing and improving the health sector in the state.

In the health sector, Gov. Ugwuanyi has done much. Recently he has approved the reconstruction of 32 health care centres.

” The 32 health centres include two in each Local Government Areas of the state with brand new ones in some councils.

”Health transformation has gone down to the Community so that people can access the health centres,”
