Covenant, others rank top Nigerian universities
The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Covenant University, and the University of Ibadan, have secured the top three spots in Nigeria in the Times Higher Education’s 2024 World University Ranking.
Covenant University is also ranked among the top 1,000 universities in the world, placing within the global 801-1000 range.
The ranking includes 1,904 universities across 108 countries and regions based on five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
Other Nigerian universities that achieved top rankings include the University of Ilorin, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Afe Babalola University, the University of Benin, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Lagos State University, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and the University of Port Harcourt.
Of the top 15 universities in Nigeria, nine are located in the South West region, two in the South East region, two in the South-South region, one in the North West region, and one in the North Central region.
