Court sentences 28-yr-old man to 10 yrs imprisonment for defiling 10-yr-old girl
Court has sentenced 28 years old man to 1o years imprisonment for defiling a 10 year old girl.
Mohammed Aliu, who defiled a teenager has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a family Court in Benin on Thursday.
Chief Magistrate Dorothy Adamaigbo, sentenced Aliu, after he had pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of defilement.
Adamaigbo who did not give the convict any option of fine, held that the court found him guilty based on his statement and evidence of medical report on the victim
Earlier, the state Prosecutor, Mary Imhodemhe told the Court that Aliu committed the offence in May 23, at Evbukuh community, along Sapele road, Benin
He also said that the convict threatened to stab the minor.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 218 of the Criminal Code , Cap 48,Vol. II, Laws of the defunct Bendel State 1976 as applicable in Edo.
