A Federal High Court in Nigeria has ordered the remand of a TikToker and another individual over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking involving Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Presiding over the matter, Justice Ibrahim Kala ordered that the defendants be remanded after they were arraigned by the police on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, cyberstalking, and character defamation.

The accused individuals, identified as Osama and Udoek, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the police prosecutor, Anthony Iyeye, the defendants, along with others still at large, used computer networks and digital platforms to spread damaging and false claims against Mrs. Omowunmi.

The prosecutor also told the court that the pair publicly carried placards bearing defamatory statements, including: “Wunmi Killed Mohbad! Period! E No Go Better For Wunmi.”

Iyeye stated that the actions amounted to a deliberate attempt to assassinate the character of the late singer’s widow through social media and public displays.

Following the plea, the defence counsel made an oral application for bail, which was denied by the court. Justice Kala subsequently adjourned the trial to September 25.

This legal development comes amid growing attention surrounding Mohbad’s death, with social media influencer VeryDarkMan continuing to push for justice. The influencer recently released details from a celebrity WhatsApp group chat discussing the circumstances of the late artist’s demise, further fueling public debate on the issue.
