A Senior Magistrates’ Court sitting in Kano on Friday, ordered that Badamasi Suleiman,18, be remanded in a Correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl.
The defendant, who resides in Janguza Quarters,Tofa Local Government Area of Kano, is charged with defilement.
Senior Magistrate Alkasim Nasib-Danfillo adjourned the matter until January 25th for further mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Umar Sa’id told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 20, 2021, at Janguza Quarters Kano.
Sa’id alleged at 1 p.m, the defendant lured the 16-year-old girl into a storage unit, situated in Janguza Quarters and defiled her.
The defendant, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code.
