Court remands 55-year-old man over alleged rape, another 35-year-old man for alleged murder
A Kano Chief Magistrate Court has ordered that a 55-year-old-man identified as Abdullahi Haladu, be remanded at Goron Dutse Custodial Centre for allegedly raping a seven-year-old- girl.
The prosecutor, ASP Gbadamosi Gawua told the Court that Isa Uba of the same address, reported the incident at Sumaila Police Division, on June 29, 2020.
He alleged that on the same date, at about 8:pm, the defendant deceived and led the child into his room, located at Uguwan Mahauta and raped her.

However, the Defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges read against him.
Also, a Chief Magistrate Court, sitting in Kano has ordered the remand of a 24-year-old student, Suraju Mohammed in a Correctional Centre, for stabbing, one 35-year-old man, Gambo Umar to death, with a bottle.
The Chief Magistrate, Mohammed Idris subsequently adjourned the case until August 31, 2020, for further mention.
