A Federal High Court has granted Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, bail in the sum of ₦10 million with one surety of the same amount.

The surety must be a responsible individual who owns landed property of equal value. The person is required to submit the original property documents and a passport photograph to the court registrar.

While delivering the ruling, Justice Musa Liman also ordered Sowore to deposit his international passport with the court.

The judge gave him 24 hours to meet the bail conditions or be taken into police custody until he does so.

Sowore pleaded not guilty to all 17 charges read to him in court.

According to the police, he was accused of using his verified X account, ‘Omoyele Sowore,’ to post a tweet calling the Inspector General of Police “illegal IGP Kayode Egbetokun.”

The police claimed the statement was false and aimed at inciting public unrest.
