The Lagos High Court in Ikeja has granted bail to former Central Bank governor Godwin Emefiele, who faced a 26-count charge by the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Rahman Oshodi approved the bail, requiring two employed sureties with three years of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Emefiele’s sureties must be registered in the Lagos State Bail Management System and provide proper identification.
The judge expressed contentment with the earlier bail conditions of N1 million given to Emefiele’s co-defendant, Henry Isioma-Omoil.
These conditions must be transferred to the special offences court and registered in the Lagos State Bail Management System.
Emefiele faced charges involving alleged abuse of office and irregular allocation of $4.5 billion and N2.8 billion by the EFCC.
