Court adjourns trial as Nnamdi Kanu pleads not guilty
The Federal High Court in Abuja, the country’ capital, has adjourned the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, until next month.
Accordoing to The PUNCH, the trial was adjourned until Novermber 10 after Kanu pleaded not guilty to the amended charges against him by the Federal Government.
Prior to his appearance on Thursday, the Feral Government amended the charges of treasonable felony and terrorism levelled against him.
Kanu now faces seven counts of related crimes, according to the publication.
The publication noted that the court denied the IPOB leader’s request to be transferred to a correctional centre.
Subsequently, Kanu was ordered to remain in the custody of the Department of State Services.
