The government of Côte d’Ivoire has approved a 25 percent reduction in passenger and security fees for flights operating within the Economic Community of West African States, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.

Authorities confirmed that three separate decrees were adopted to lower and harmonise charges related to passenger services, security, and aviation safety.

The revised framework applies to domestic routes, intra-African flights, and international services outside the African continent.

The government explained that the policy is designed to better align the country’s aviation sector with regional standards and improve competitiveness.

It is also aimed at strengthening the position of the national airline, Air Côte d’Ivoire, as well as enhancing the performance of state-owned airports.

Officials further noted that the reforms are in line with ECOWAS aviation tax and charge regulations adopted in December 2024, which seek to create a more unified and efficient air transport system across West Africa.
