Coronavirus is a lesson from God, we will be better people when the time passes- Dolly Parton
Country music legend and Tennessee native Dolly Parton is staying positive amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Parton shared a video to Instagram on Friday encouraging her 3.1 million followers to “keep the faith” during trying times.
“Don’t be too scared, it’s going to be all right. God loves you,” Parton said.

In true Dolly fashion, the “Jolene” singer began the video with a lighthearted melody and her trademark charm.
“Well hello! It’s Dolly. Climbing the stairway to heaven because this virus has scared the H-E-L-L out of us,” Parton sang at the beginning of the video. “I’m not making light out of the situation. Well, maybe I am because it’s the light, I believe, that’s going to dissolve the situation. I think God is in this, I really do.”
Parton added that she believes everyone is going to come out of the pandemic a better person.
“I think he’s trying to hold us up to the light so we can see ourselves and see each other through the eyes of love, and I hope we learn that lesson,” Parton said. “I think that when this passes we’re all gonna be better people.”
As of Sunday, there are 1,530 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state of Tennessee including 394 cases in Metro Nashville and six cases in Parton’s native Sevier County.
On Monday, the singer’s Dollywood theme park announced it has delayed its opening and suspended the operations of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa as of March 24.
