Leke Adeboye, son of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has thrown his support behind a group, Concerned Christian Youth Forum, planning to go after individuals verbally attacking his father as part of the #30DaysRantChallenge against economic hardship.

The challenge, which has gained attention on social media, involves young Nigerians expressing their frustrations about the state of the country, with some directing criticism at religious leaders, including Pastor Adeboye.

A Facebook user, Paul James Adama, issued a stern warning to those criticizing the respected pastor, stating that there would be consequences for those who crossed the line.

“There’s an ongoing so-called #30DaysRantChallenge where some youths are launching a verbal assault at Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the Christian faith,” the post read.

“All the so-called social media Christians, prophets, apostles, and young pastors who know how to quote scriptures are watching this malicious and injurious publication without a word of rebuke.

“Once we arrest those who have crossed the red line, they will start saying things like, ‘Jesus never arrested anybody.’ Let it be abundantly clear that those who have abused our faith and fathers of faith on that challenge will be communicated to in the language they will understand.”

Leke Adeboye reshared the post on his Instagram page, sparking different reactions online. Some agreed with him, saying religious leaders should be respected, while others criticized his statement, asking if Jesus would have reacted the same way.

@Deji_MaOzi commented, “It’s really appalling that he will share the post. He should know and do better. That’s not the right posture in all this chaos.”

@KryptiRex disagreed with the approach, saying, “You don’t arrest people when you allege defamation, you charge them to court. This is another reason why more people will speak against the church’s lawlessness.”

However, @AyeniSamuelDayo supported the idea of arresting those involved, saying, “They should arrest that guy, that TikTok guy. Yes, they should. All those bloggers and posters should learn their lessons by fire, by force.”

Others expressed their frustration more aggressively, with @Gloriousbams saying, “All of you are mad… Anybody wey do anyhow go see anyhow.”

Some called for legal action instead of threats. @da_Reyyy stated, “He has the right to seek redress through legal means. If anyone has a problem with that, meet them in court.”
