Controversial media personality, Tucker Carlson, has confirmed recent rumors by disclosing plans to conduct an exclusive interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Sky News, this forthcoming interview would mark the first time Mr. Putin engages with Western media since the onset of the Ukraine invasion.

In a video shared on X, Carlson, known for his vocal support of Mr. Putin and his controversial tenure at Fox News, expressed his motivations behind the interview. He emphasized the importance of informing the American public about the ongoing conflict and the role of the United States. Carlson stated:

“Not a single Western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin.”

Despite some journalists’ rebuttals to his claims, Carlson highlighted the lack of balanced coverage and asserted that Americans deserve diverse perspectives on the crisis. He stated:

“Americans have a right to know about the war they are implicated in.”

Moreover, Carlson criticized what he perceived as biased interviews with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, characterizing them as one-sided portrayals aimed at pushing for increased US involvement. He argued:

“Their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers, and they do that mostly by omission.”

Addressing concerns about his support for Mr. Putin, Carlson clarified that his aim is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the conflict rather than endorse Putin’s viewpoints. He stressed:

“We are not here because we love Vladimir Putin… we are urging you to watch it. You should know as much as you can.”

While the exact timing of the interview remains undisclosed, Carlson revealed his intention to request an interview with President Zelenskyy, demonstrating a commitment to presenting diverse perspectives on the conflict.
