Confusion as two rectors resume office in Osun poly
Two rectors resumed duty at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, on Thursday, creating a tense situation on the campus.
Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo, suspended by the state government on July 11 on allegations of financial misappropriation, returned to the campus with a court order restraining the government from acting on his suspension.
Mr. Kehinde Alabi, who was appointed acting rector by the government, also resumed duty on Thursday.
Odetayo and his supporters went to the rector’s office, while Alabi and his supporters gathered in a hall. The situation was tense, but there was no violence.
In a statement by Alabi’s spokesperson, Tope Abiola, he said the state government said it was taking steps to resolve the crisis and ensure that the school runs smoothly.
