The death of a boy identified as Benjamin has caused confusion in the Iyowa community in the Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The PUNCH reports that Benjamin was said to have ended his own life over an allegation of incest on Tuesday.

According to a source, residents discovered Benjamin’s lifeless body hanging in an uncompleted building close to where he lived.

“Benjamin and his cousin, Ejiro, had for some years been living with a relative in the community.

“Recently, there was suspicion that the duo was in an incestuous relationship.

“Benjamin, probably of his desire to avoid public condemnation and shame, decided to end it all by taking his life.”

Confirming the report, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kontongs Bello, said Benjamin’s family have taken the corpse for burial.
