CONDOLENCE! Buhari jets off to Katsina, visits late Senator Bukar’s family [Photos]

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday departed Abuja for Daura, Katsina State, to pay a condolence visit to Senator Mustapha Bukar’s family.

This was made known in pictures shared on the Twitter handle of the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad.

Ahmad said the president is expected to return to Abuja on Sunday.

Senator Bukar who represented Katsina North Senatorial District died on Wednesday after a brief illness.

The president, who arrived at the residence of late Bukar at 6:00 pm said the senator was his very close ally in difficulties and in joy, noting that his death touched him deeply, personally and officially.

He said Nigeria would miss the wisdom and political sagacity of Bukar, and prayed fervently for the repose of the soul of the deceased. He urged the family to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Buhari described Bukar as a humble, honest and hard working God fearing person who placed national interest above all other considerations.

He said Bukar played politics with decency, decorum and understanding, noting that his death is a personal loss to him and the nation in general.

Responding, the elder brother of the deceased, Abdullahi Bukar, thanked Buhari and said the family appreciated his visit.
