Commuters, traders flee as soldiers take over Oshodi
Soldiers have reportedly gone on rampage in the Oshodi area of Lagos state, leading to panic and confusion among residents and commuters.
A video circulating on social media this morning captured the moment traders were seen scampering to hide, while some others run for dear lives.
Some of the commuters who were caught in the commotion took to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to share clips and still photos of the melodrama.
Although the cause of the crisis is not immediately known, eyewitnesses claimed that the soldiers were probably in Oshodi on a reprisal attack after a military officer was allegedly killed the previous day in the area.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said he was awaiting a report on the incident from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.
He promised to react after getting the feedback.
