PHOTOS: Imo community honours man for being first banker in their history
An Imo State-born Nigerian man, Peter Ijara, has been celebrated for his achievement as the first banker in the history of Amanato Ozuakoli Uruala community in Imo State.
Ijara was presented with an award of honour in recognition of his achievement as a pioneer banker at a ceremony organised by the Umudiala Development Union on Monday, April 5, 2021.
The erudite banker was handed the award by Imo State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition, Hon Iyke Umeh, who praised him for his steadfastness and doggedness in the banking industry.
Ijara, who has been a banker for 17 years and served as branch manager of Eco Bank, said he feels honoured to be recognized by his people.
“When my kinsmen said well done son! I promise them I will bring the name of my community to more limelight and I mean it. The award was presented by Imo State commissioner of entrepreneurship and skills acquisition,” he wrote.
