Coming 2 America: eLDee rates Davido’s performance as Afrobeat biggest achievement

Rapper-turned-American information technology consultant, Lanre Dabiri, better known by his stage name eLDee The Don, has applauded Afro-pop star, Davido’s movie debut in Hollywood’s Coming 2 America.

The 2021 movie, a sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 classic – Coming To America, dropped in Nigerian cinemas on Friday, March 5th.

The ‘A Better Time’ singer sent fans into frenzy after he uploaded a snippet of his cameo appearance in the movie on Instagram.

In the viral clip, Davido was seen performing his single, ‘Assurance’ off his 2019 album, ‘A Good Time’.

Reacting to the singer’s appearance, eLDee dubbed his cameo as the biggest achievement for Afrobeat.

An original member of the band Trybesmen created in 1998 with rappers KB and Freestyle, eLDee left Nigeria for the United States after producing five solo albums.

In 2019, the former Afro-hip hop star declared that he did not regret quitting music as the path his career was going would not make him have time for his family.
