Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson has denied reports that she filed a N500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Ibom Air, and others.

Emmanson, who had earlier sparked controversy over her conduct on an Ibom Air flight, made the clarification in a post shared on her Instagram story on Saturday.

Her reaction followed reports that a lawyer, Ayodele Ademiluyi, had filed a suit in a Lagos court on her behalf, demanding N500 billion as compensation.

She distanced herself from the lawyer and said she has not taken any legal action yet, though she hinted she may do so in the future.

“My attention has been drawn to a fake report claiming that I have filed a N500 billion lawsuit against the Federal Government, NCAA, and others. This information is false and misleading. I have not taken any such legal action yet,” she wrote.

“When I eventually do anything of such nature (which is imminent), I will personally update the public myself via my official page,” she added.

Emmanson further clarified who her legal representative is. “For the avoidance of doubt, my lawyer is Adam Atakpa of Kippraise Attorneys. I urge everyone to disregard this fake news and avoid being misled.”

Emmanson was previously sentenced to prison before she regained freedom after the intervention of the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
