Nigerian comedian Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has taken a jab at online critic Vincent Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, after music producer Don Jazzy donated N100 million to VDM’s NGO.

Deeone mocked VDM for accepting the money despite previously criticizing Don Jazzy for supporting controversial figures.

In August 2024, VDM had publicly blasted Don Jazzy, Funke Akindele, Victor Osimhen, and other celebrities for donating to crossdresser Bobrisky after his jail sentence.

VDM expressed disappointment in their actions. However, only a few weeks later, VDM accepted Don Jazzy’s donation and prayed for the music mogul, leading to online reactions.

Deeone shared his thoughts on social media, taunting VDM. He said, “I am disappointed in Don Jazzy. VDM don collect money from am. So that means this Don Jazzy na good person, he no dey look whether you be evil person. When Don Jazzy gave Bobrisky money, VDM come out say ‘I’m disappointed’. Now he’s collecting N100 million for his NGO and praying for Don Jazzy with the same mouth he used to curse him.”

The comedian also pointed out how Don Jazzy didn’t respond to VDM’s insults earlier, saying, “Don Jazzy no talk, he just look am say ‘it is poverty’.”

He added that VDM had never seen that kind of money before and even asked Zenith Bank to investigate to prove he wasn’t involved in money laundering.

Nigerians online reacted to Deeone’s comments, with some supporting his view.

One user, stellaogoo, said, “You speak the truth, my brother.”

Another, Cuteaijayy, added, “It shocked me too as he collected the money but was running his mouth for Bob.”

@hallofkay, commented, “But VDM actually said in that video you’re referencing that when the time comes, all those names should better donate for a good cause. So it’s clear you love antagonizing him.”

Media personality Solomon Buchi also weighed in, stating, “Now that VDM has received N100 million from Don Jazzy, I hope he understands why they supported Bobrisky. A giver is a giver, don’t drag people because they gave to someone you hate.”
