Colombia end Nigeria’s U-17 women’s W’Cup dream

The Flamingos 2022 U-17 Women’s World Cup in dream ended on Wednesday after losing their semifinal clash to the Powerpuff Girls of Colombia.
Colombia defeated Nigeria 6-5 on penalties at the tournament in India to enter the final.
The Nigerian side defeated the United States 5-4 on penalties in the quarter-finals but failed to repeat the feat in a thrilling semifinal encounter.
After a goalless play in regular time, Flamingos who were on a dream campaign after entering their first-ever semis were handed a boost when Yesica, an opportunity they capitalised on until the fifth and decisive kick blown by Edafe.
Her miss allowed Ortegon to restore Colombia’s lead, and swing the momentum in favour of the Powerpuff Girls.
Although Oyinlola scored to keep the Flamingos in the game, Folorunsho missed her last kick, marking the end of the road for the Nigerians in India.
