Nigerian rapper Oludemilade Alejo, popularly known as Ycee, has taken to social media to lament the prevalence of hard drugs in Lagos.

The rapper said the use of cocaine is becoming increasingly prominent in Lagos that it is now being offered at social gatherings like a legal commodity.

The rapper expressed his worry in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle in the early hours of Saturday.

He tweeted:

“The way people offer you cocaine in Lagos now you’d think it’s biscuit.”

The rapper posted the tweet at 3:10 am, suggesting that he may be at a nightclub at the time he was tweeting and may have just been offered the illegal substance.

Corroborating Ycee’s claim, a Twitter user shared a tweet of her experience which she posted on November 2.

She tweeted:

Some Twitter users also said it is more prevalent in Abuja than Lagos.

Other social media users, however, believed his experience may be due to the circle of friends he keeps.
