Blind cleric and the General Overseer, Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide, Prophet Moses Kasali, has lauded the humility of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, saying such should be imbibed by Nigerian leaders.

Kasali, who said he was amazed at the level of humility displayed by the frontline traditional ruler and had imbibed lessons from such, said, “The nation will benefit a lot if our leaders – can emulate this and exhibit humility in handling all issues as they serve the people.”

The cleric, according to a statement from his church made available in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, spoke during the event marking the 10th year anniversary of Alaseyori Annual Prayer and Fasting Programme of the ministry and the birthday celebration of the cleric.

He said, “The humility of the Ooni, Oba Ogunwusi has, no doubt, reflected in his outstanding leadership quality, integrity and honesty. I have learned humility, love and unity from him. If all our leaders can emulate his humility, Nigeria will definitely move forward.

“I am amazed that he made it to this programme despite his tight schedule. He made me feel fulfilled. Truly God is still reigning”, the cleric said.

Kasali, who urged Nigerians, particularly the well-to-do to spare a thought for the needy and less-privileged, distributed foodstuffs to about 200 widows as part of the celebrations.

He said, “Things are not easy for the less privileged. l love putting smiles on the faces of those in that category because I had been in that position before. I experienced what poverty means. I saw it and faced it. Poverty can destroy people because it is a bad experience.

“We need to focus on what we can do for the less privileged and not amassing wealth. Our people are dying of hunger on daily basis.”

The coordinator of Canada chapter of Edidi Mission, Mr Bolaji Oladoyin, who lauded Kasali for bringing succour to Nigerians abroad through the forum, said the group was planning some projects to be executed on the Alaseyori Prayer Mountain.

Oladoyin said, “We want to build bigger guest house that will accommodate more people who come for programmes on this mountain. Individual member are to build chalets, school for the community and also give scholarship to the less privileged.”
