Christmas: El-Rufai urges Christians, Muslims to emulate Jesus Christ
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna State, has urged all Christians and Muslims to emulate the examples f Jesus Christ.
In a video message posted by Channels TV, the governor, urged all to shun negativity from those who seek to cause division because of the religious differences and tongues.
He prayed that God will allow the blessings and lessons of the season spread beyond Kaduna to other places.
“Christmas celebrates the birth of the Prince of Peace. The life of Jesus Christ teaches us the values of compassion, love, tolerance and forgiveness. His birth, in lowly, yet miraculous circumstances did not describe his limits and in facing trials, he demonstrated the power of faith.
“As we celebrate the Prince of Peace, let us reject the negativity of the demagogues who seek to turn us against each other just because our faith and tongues may differ.
“Let us commit to peace and goodwill towards all. We can all as Christians and Muslims emulate the examples of Jesus Christ. We can strife to be better than we are today, combining our faith with exemplary conduct.
“We pray to God Almighty that the blessings and lessons of Christmas will spread through our state and move us to be better people,” he said.
