Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has expressed his openness to a potential move to Manchester United during the January transfer window, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

While Choupo-Moting is reportedly interested in joining the Premier League club, Bayern Munich may prove reluctant to part ways with the Cameroonian forward, given his impactful performances coming off the bench.

Man United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, is actively seeking the addition of a new central striker to the squad before the end of the month, with Choupo-Moting featuring prominently on their shortlist.

Romano shared insights on the situation, stating, “Yeah, I think he will be open to that [joining Man United]. I’m also hearing that at Bayern Munich, they are very happy with him. Bayern would like to keep him, even though they have Harry Kane because Mathys Tel is very young; he’s doing fantastic but he’s very young.”

Despite facing limited playing time at Bayern Munich this season, Choupo-Moting remains highly regarded by the club.

His impact off the bench and contributions, particularly in the absence of key players, have contributed to Bayern’s satisfaction with his performance.

Choupo-Moting, who arrived at Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in October 2020, may present an appealing option for Manchester United, but negotiations with the German club could prove challenging.
