Chelsea Football Club has signed 20-year-old Nigerian central defender Justin Osagie after a successful trial at Stamford Bridge.
The young defender joined the Blues on undisclosed terms following the end of his contract with Peterborough United.
During his trial, Osagie was said to have impressed Chelsea’s academy coaches, which earned him a permanent deal. He is now part of the club’s development squad and was listed as an unused substitute in the EFL Trophy game against Northampton Town.
Before joining Chelsea, Osagie played for Southend United, West Ham United, and Celtic, before signing for Peterborough United in 2024 after another strong trial performance.
Reports indicate that several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brighton, had also shown interest in the defender.
Osagie is eligible to represent both Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland at the international level.
