Since year 2010, many Nigerian art lovers look forward to attending the Lagos Photo Festival.
For many it is an an avenue to live the experiences of photographers around the world through their exhibited works. For others especially photographers, it is a kind of renaissance. After the event, they are able to go back to their studio and inject more passion into their chosen career.
This year’s edition is themed: Rituals and Performance: Inherent Risk. It was flagged of on Saturday, October 22 and it will run through November 21, one full month at the Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island Lagos.
Thirty-nine photographers, including TY Bello who discovered modelling talent, Jumoke Orisaguna -the former bread seller- will be exhibiting their works at this year’s event.
The event is organised by the African Artists’ Foundation (AAF) as part of an ongoing project designed to use art in public spaces, as a medium for increasing societal awareness. The festival includes workshops and classes for professional artists, art fairs and indoor and outdoor exhibitions citywide. LagosPhoto is held annually and features emerging photographers alongside established photographers.
See some of the works of the photographers at the event if they won’t still, even steal your heart.
