Chaos, lamentation as Nigerians react to suspension of operation by Aero Contractors Airlines
Hours after Nigeria’s second largest commercial carrier, Aero Contractors Airlines, announced that all scheduled services in the country would be suspended from Thursday, September 1, Nigerians have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction.
WuzupNaija recalls that in the statement released by the carrier’s management on Tuesday, it was stated that the airline had faced grave challenges in the past six months which impacted its business and scheduled services operations.
It was added that the suspension of their scheduled services was part of a strategic business realignment to re-position the airline and return it to profitability.
However, contrary to the carrier’s claimed that the suspension would kick off from Thursday, some of its passengers have alleged that their flights were cancelled early today without any warning.
According to the passengers, flights are still being booked and paid for online, but on arrival at the terminal, official of the carrier would inform passengers that they are not flying.
Investigation however revealed that the carrier later started refunding money back to passengers who were stranded for hours.

When a major airline like Aero Contractors shuts down operation indefinitely then the economy of the day is shaky.
