The Super Falcons on Nigeria have won the African Women’s Nation’s Cup in Ghana after beating South Africa 4-3 on penalties on Saturday in Ghana.
Both sides ended with a draw and extra-time without a goal before the ensuing penalty shot out.
With the win, Nigeria has now reached a record ninth continental crown, defending the title they won in Cameroon last year.
In the third place game, Cameroon mauled Mali 4-2 and will now join Nigeria and South Africa at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
