The head of United States Central Command has reportedly briefed President Donald Trump on potential plans for a decisive strike against Iran, according to Fox News on Thursday.

Admiral Brad Cooper outlined the proposals during a meeting in the White House Situation Room, presenting what was described as a “short and powerful wave of strikes” should the president choose to resume military action.

The report indicated that the proposed targets include Iran’s remaining military capabilities, leadership structure, and key infrastructure.

According to the Pentagon’s considerations, advanced weaponry may be deployed, including a hypersonic missile system known as “Dark Eagle,” which has the capacity to strike targets at distances of up to 2,000 miles (3,218 kilometres), potentially hitting ballistic missile launch sites.

In addition, B-1B Lancer aircraft have reportedly increased their presence in the region. These bombers are capable of carrying payloads of up to 5,000 pounds of hypersonic weapons.

Military tensions escalated after the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, triggering retaliatory actions by Tehran against U.S. allies in the Gulf and leading to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire was later announced on April 8 through mediation by Pakistan, followed by negotiations held in Islamabad on April 11–12, though the talks ended without a formal agreement.

Subsequently, Trump extended the truce unilaterally at Pakistan’s request, without specifying a new deadline.
