Father Arimoro, who was ordained a priest on Friday, January 3, died on Thursday, February 13, 2020, exactly 40 days after his ordination, following injuries he sustained in the accident which claimed seven other lives.

The cleric described the 31-year old late priest as a pastor in life and in death, who would not allow his flock to return to God alone.

Adesina said, “(late) Fr. Matthew ARIMIRO in his 40 days of priestly ministry left us with a memory of love, kindness and gentleness.

“What positive impact or impressions are you going to leave behind when death comes? May the soul of Fr. Matthew Oluwatosin ARIMORO and the souls of the faithful departed rest in perfect peace.”

In his post-communion remarks, Bishop Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, John Oyejola, said the sad occurrence of the road mishap would not deter Catholics in the diocese from going for the annual pilgrimage.

He said it would rather strengthen the faith of the pilgrims and the entire Catholic community, urging Nigerians to be more committed and avoid sins.
