Canadian rapper and singer Drake released his eighth full-length studio album, “For All the Dogs,” today on October 6, 2023.

While fans have been hailing the singer’s album and its tracks, he has announced that he will be taking at least a year’s break from music due to his stomach issues.

In his SiriusXM show “Table for One” on Friday, he said, “I need to focus on my health, first and foremost.”

Drake, whose birth name is Aubrey Graham, has been facing gastrointestinal issues for years now and wants to become healthy first. He shared, “I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach.”

“I’ma lock the door on the studio for a little bit. Maybe a year or something … maybe a little longer,” added the 36-year-old singer.

Drake made this announcement just hours after releasing his latest album, making it clear that he has more important things to deal with now.

While he mentioned taking a break from music, he also hinted at working on projects for others.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest. I might, I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” he said.

He also mentioned that he had just finished a studio session with J. Cole, hinting at more music from him before his hiatus begins.
